This gives you full control over what changes and what does not.

Why use context?

Instead of making broad changes across your app, you can scope edits to only the file, component, or folder you mention. Nothing else will be touched. Use @ when you want to apply changes to a specific part of your project and keep everything else untouched. This is especially helpful when:
  • You know exactly where you want to make the change
  • You want to avoid accidental edits in other files
  • You are working on a detailed or isolated section of your app

What makes context better

    Rocket applies your prompt only to the selected file or folder. Other parts of your app remain unchanged.

    If you are editing one file, others will not be affected even if they have similar structure or content.

How context works

Just type @ in Rocket chat and begin entering the name of the file or folder you want to edit. Rocket will show matching results in a dropdown.
You can select using your arrow keys or click to confirm. You can use @:
  • On its own in a message
  • Inside complex instructions for better targeting

Examples

Use in a message:
@product-page update heading to 'Compare Plans'. Use with detailed prompts:
@pricing-section keep the plan cards but remove the old testimonials. Use with multiple edits:
@onboarding-flow update step titles, but leave the progress bar as is.
You can reference any folder or file that exists in your project. Rocket will only apply your message to that selection.
