Detailed walkthrough

Before you begin

You’ll need:
  • You’re signed in to Rocket.
  • A live, publicly accessible website URL.
1

Paste a page URL

Go to rocket.new and paste the URL of the page you want to clone into the chat. Rocket automatically detects it as a website link and begins analyzing that page. You can also describe what you want alongside the URL. For example: “Redesign this page with a modern dark theme” followed by the link.
Rocket clones the specific page you link to, not the entire website. To rebuild multiple pages, paste each page URL separately.
2

Rocket extracts the Design DNA

Rocket analyzes the page and extracts its design system:
  • Colors - primary, secondary, accent, and background palettes
  • Typography - font families, sizes, weights, and line heights
  • Spacing - padding, margins, and layout rhythm
  • Shadows and border radius - depth and shape language
  • Components - buttons, cards, navigation patterns, and form styles
  • Layout structure - header, footer, sections, and content hierarchy
Success check: Rocket displays a summary of the extracted design DNA before proceeding.

Tips for better results

  • Use publicly accessible URLs. Password-protected, staging, or localhost sites can’t be scanned.
  • Start with the most important page. Clone your homepage or landing page first, then paste additional page URLs to build out the rest.
  • Pair the URL with a description. Saying “Redesign this with a dark theme and bolder typography” alongside the URL gives Rocket clear direction.
  • One URL = one page. Rocket clones the specific page you link to. Paste additional URLs to add more pages to your project.
  • Check SEO after transformation. Use the /Generate SEO Report command to verify meta tags, redirects, and structured data carried over correctly.
