The News & Media pillar tells you how third-party press and editorial cover a company. This is the narrative the company does not control: what journalists, analysts, and publications say about them.
News and Media pillar showing article feed with coverage volume trend and top articles table
The News & Media pillar has five sub-tabs: Overview, Article feed, Sentiment analysis, Awards & recognition, and PR activity. The Article feed shows stats including Total Articles, Positive/Negative Sentiment percentages, Tier 1 Coverage count, and Coverage Velocity, along with a coverage volume trend chart and a top articles table with impact ratings.

What it tracks

  • Coverage volume and velocity: how much press a company gets and when it spikes
  • Top articles and tier-1 placements: which outlets are writing about them
  • Sentiment and narrative themes: how the tone and story evolve over time
  • Press releases and PR strategy signals: when they are actively driving media
  • Executive media appearances: interviews, awards, analyst recognition
  • Narrative gaps: differences between what the company says (Website/Social) and what press says

Example Intel

  • Tier-1 coverage shifted from “AI safety” to “enterprise readiness” over six weeks
  • Coverage volume spiked 3x coinciding with a funding announcement
  • Press narrative turned negative after a security incident, while company website made no acknowledgment
  • First analyst mention in a Magic Quadrant category
