The Product & Technology pillar tells you what a company ships and how fast its engineering organization moves. This is the most direct view into a competitor’s product investment.
Product and Technology pillar showing feature analysis with release velocity, predicted roadmap features, and feature silences
The Product & Technology pillar has nine sub-tabs: Overview, Changelog, Feature analysis, API Platform, GitHub & OSS, Dev ecosystem, Tech stack, App store, and More. The Feature analysis tab shows stats including Release velocity, Days since last ship, Releases in 30 days, Active GitHub repos, and API changes. It also displays “Features on roadmap (predicted)” with confidence scores, “Feature silences (no marketing support)”, and metrics like AI feature ratio, Enterprise language frequency, Bug fix vs feature ratio, and Documentation growth.

What it tracks

  • Feature releases and changelogs: what was shipped and when
  • Release velocity: how often they ship, and whether the cadence is changing
  • Silent releases: features shipped without marketing (no blog post, no social announcement)
  • API and platform changes: new endpoints, deprecations, SDK updates
  • GitHub activity: open source contributions, repository activity where available
  • SDK downloads and ecosystem health: package manager stats, developer adoption signals
  • Tech stack evolution: detected infrastructure changes, new frameworks adopted
  • App store version history: release notes and update frequency

Example Intel

  • Three features shipped in one week with no launch post, indicating a silent release pattern
  • New enterprise SSO endpoints appeared in API changelog
  • Release cadence slowed from weekly to monthly, suggesting a possible team reorg or pivot
  • Open source repository went from active maintenance to stale (no commits in 60 days)

Silent releases (Product pillar shows shipping, but Social and News show nothing) often indicate features being tested or soft-launched before a public push. Watch for the marketing follow-through in subsequent weeks.
