Task level sharing is the most granular level of collaboration in Rocket. It lets you give someone access to a single Solve or Build task without exposing the rest of the project. The invitee is still added to the workspace and can create new threads and other work according to their role. Use this for external reviewers, clients, or stakeholders who only need to see one specific output.

Steps

1

Go to Tasks

In the left sidebar, click Tasks to open your tasks list.

Enter an email address and choose a role

In the Share your task panel, type the recipient’s email address (1) and select a role (2): Editor or Viewer. Only the task owner can invite collaborators. Editors who do not own the task can never invite anyone to it. See Roles and permissions for what each role can do.

5

Confirm the role and click Invite

Select the role from the dropdown and click Invite. The recipient receives an email with a link to access the task. You can also copy the invite link directly using the copy icon next to their name in the sharing panel. You can track acceptance in the Requests tab of the notification panel.

Select a role and click Invite to send the invitation

Task level sharing adds the recipient to the workspace. They can create new threads and other work according to their role permissions, but they only see the specific task you shared. They do not see the rest of the project or other workspace content unless you invite them separately.

Revoke a pending invitation

If you need to cancel a task invitation before the recipient accepts it, open the Share your task panel and find the collaborator with the Pending badge.
1

Open the Share your task panel

In the task toolbar at the top right, click the Members icon to open the Share your task panel.
2

Open the role dropdown on the pending row

Click the role dropdown (showing Editor or Viewer) on the pending collaborator’s row. This reveals additional actions for that invitation.
3

Click Revoke invite

Select Revoke invite from the dropdown. The pending row is removed immediately and the invitation link in the recipient’s email becomes invalid. The recipient can no longer accept the invitation through email, the copied invite link, or the Requests tab in the notification panel.

Remove a collaborator

You can remove an accepted collaborator’s access to a task at any time. Open the Share your task panel, find the collaborator’s row, and use their role dropdown to remove them.

2

Click Remove

Select Remove from the dropdown. The collaborator loses access to this task immediately. They can no longer view the task or its outputs, and any invite link for that person no longer grants access to this task.

Select Remove to revoke the collaborator's access

Revoking or removing someone’s access to a task does not remove them from the workspace. They remain a workspace member and keep access to any other projects or tasks they were invited to. However, revoking or removing access at the workspace level also removes their access from all projects and tasks in the workspace.

Roles and permissions

Day to day collaborator. Editors can chat, iterate, and upload files on the task. Editors who do not own the task can never invite anyone to it. Only the task owner can invite collaborators. When the invite toggle is enabled, the owner can invite anyone. When it is disabled, the owner can invite only existing workspace members.
Read-only access. Viewers can see the task and its outputs, but cannot chat, iterate, or upload files.
